Cold War Kids // “Audience”

Just like the first time I heard Up In Rags and With Our Wallets Full, I feel like I’m being pulled in a few directions at once on Behave Yourself. Its a visceral attraction that just doesn’t like being described with words. Get your copy on iTunes, full length coming later this year.

Also: CWK have sold out Terminal 5 this friday, but you can enter for a pair of tickets here.

In other bear news….

This ridiculously well choreographed music video for Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks came across my radar recently, and I know what you’re thinking. They did do another video for that song. That creepy church one. But this one comes from Gabe Askew and it’s unofficial. Check out this interview for some behind the scenes details.

Bear Hands //What A Drag”

I was dissapointed that I missed these guys at Siren Fest last summer but luckily it looks like 2010 is going to be a big year. Brooklyn based Bear Hands are the new kids on the playground at Cantora Records (home of MGMT) and they’ve already created quite the buzz with What a Drag. Formed in 2006, the band has been sharing the stage with the likes of Passion Pit, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Matt & Kim, and a long list of others. The single will be pressed on Limited Edition 7” white vinyl, out February 16th. Also available as a digital download for anyone restricted to iPods.

New Yorkers can catch the release party at Webster Hall on February 16th. You Phoenix kids should head to the Rhythm Room on the 23rd to catch them  on tour with Scottish band We Were Promised Jetpacks. Tons more dates posted on their myspace page.

Jack Peñate // “Pull My Heart Away”

Spent the last few hours mining for new music all over the internet, when on a whim decided to check with longtime friend and music guru Lori Murphy, who had conveniently posted this video just moments earlier. Finally I can go to bed, although I’m sure I’ll be looking for more details on this one tomorrow. Dedication goes out to Sarah, who doesn’t believe in life after love. Night all.
